The Home Depot reveals the return of its giant skeleton

There are a number of signs telling Halloween fans that spooky season is imminent, as recent years have seen fans celebrate the arrival of The Home Depot’s giant skeleton, known as “Skelly.” While October itself may be months away, it’s never too early to get ready for All Hallow’s Eve, as Home Depot is making sure fans are ready for the upcoming festivities by announcing when the 12-foot-high skeleton will be back. Halloween fans will want to make sure to head over to The Home Depot’s official website on Friday, July 15 for their chance to grab one of the coveted props.

The Home Depot’s official account tweeted: “Officially invite you to save the date.” “Mark your calendars because on July 15, Skelly is back in stock with some giant friends new and old! While supplies run out.”

Home Depot first unveiled Skelly in 2020 and it quickly became a sensation. The figure’s success was largely based on its simple, pun intended design and huge scope, which got Halloween fans on the lookout. When the company brought the prop back in 2021, it also debuted the similarly impressive Inferno Pumpkin, with a tweet stating that fans can expect more exciting additions to the oversized roster of props.

Home Depot dealer Lance Allen previously described how the beloved prop first appeared.

“We have a small group on our vacation team that strategize and collaborate on new items,” Allen told ComicBook.com in 2021. The 12-foot-tall skeleton emerged after we got inspired by the larger-than-life elements we wander in. Shows and haunted houses. I still remember it must be as big as two grown men standing on top of each other and watching the engineer’s mouth fall, trying to figure out the challenge.”

He continued, “The 12-foot-high skeleton was actually one of the easiest pieces we had to design because the outline was a human skeleton. The first version was anatomically correct, but we had to adjust it because the measurement wasn’t right on a piece of this size.”

Stay tuned for details on The Home Depot’s various other shows heading into Halloween.
